Risk Assessment Training course
Risk assessment course will enable employees to gain the knowledge of how to assess and undertake effective risks assessments in the workplace. Themes covered will include:

Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
Managing Safely
This four day qualification is suitable for managers and supervisors in any sector, and any organisation. It’s designed to give managers the knowledge on the practical actions they need to take to handle health and safety in their teams.
This course covers:
1. Introducing managing safely
2. Assessing risks
3. Controlling risks
4. Understanding your responsibilities
5. Identifying hazards
6. Investigating accidents and incidents
7. Measuring performance
8. Protecting our environment
Delegates will sit an assessment paper and will need to submit a practical risk assessment project. Successful delegates will be issued with a certificate.
Hearing conservation Course
This course helps employers to gain the understanding needed on the requirement to wear hearing protection in specified areas. This in turn helps employers to comply with health and safety legislation, and promotes safe-systems of working.
Typically the course covers:
1. Anatomy of the ear, and how the ear functions
2. The effect of noise on the ear
3. Hearing loss
4. The prevention of noise induced hearing loss
5. Hearing protection
6. Duration half day – certificate of attendance will be issued
NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
This globally recognised health, safety and risk qualification is suitable for managers, supervisors, and staff who need a broad understanding of health and safety issues. This certificate helps delegates manage health and safety risks effectively. The NEBOSH certificate is accepted by IOSH – the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health in meeting the academic requirements for technician membership of IOSH (TechIOSH) and is also accepted by the international Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM) for associate membership.
This course is delivered over 12-14 weeks, and consists of three modules, management of Health and Safety (NGC1), Controlling workplace Hazards(GC2), practical Element (GC3) via day release. Content of the course includes the following elements:
Management of health and Safety (NGC1)
1. Foundations in Health and Safety
2. Health and Safety Management Systems – Plan
3. Health and Safety Management Systems – Do
4. Health and Safety Management Systems – Check
5. Health and Safety Management Systems – Act
Controlling Workplace hazards (GC2)
1. Workplace Hazards and risk control
2. Transport hazards and risk control
3. Musculoskeletal hazards and risk control
4. Work equipment hazards and risk control
5. Electrical Safety
6. Fire safety
7. Chemical and biological health hazards and risk control
8. Physical and psychological health hazards and risk control.
Health and Safety Practical Application (GC3)
Delegates will sit an exam for each of the taught modules, and submit a risk assessment and report for the practical element (GC3). Successful delegates will be issued with a certificate for each module completed and a qualification certificate.
Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Courses (CIEH)
Level 2 in Health and Safety in the Workplace
This qualification will benefit anyone in a work environment as it provides delegates with an understanding of health and safety that will enable them to contribute to any risk assessment based health and safety management system. Typically the course is delivered over 1 day with an assessment paper. A certificate will be issued to successful delegates.
Level 2 Award Health and Safety in Health and Social care/ Level 2 award in Hygiene in Health and Social care
This qualification will benefit those working directly with patients / clients in a health and social care environment. It provides delegates with an understanding of health and safety that will enable them to contribute to any risk assessment based health and safety management system. In addition it will also help care workers, recognise the causes of infection and help them assess the risks that their actions have on the health of their patients and clients.
Each component can be offered separately each covering half a day. Together both components typically last for 1 day with an assessment paper for each award. A certificate will be issued to successful delegates.
